'ID'

This triptych consists of self-portraits with my three IDs and nationalities - Nicaraguan, Portuguese and American. It was made to question what connects a person to a national identity. The mere idea of me existing already threatens many nationalists and the idea that a connection with land must be defined by borders and bureaucracy that comes with it. What am I if I have more than one nationality? Should I choose one of them or should I embrace my multinational background? Which nationality and culture do I connect with the most (if that's even the case)?
