“The term equidistance in our research was born out of the feeling of belongingness. As a trio, in which each one of us shares a different background, we aim to share our different frequencies for this given period we are in. We would reclaim these collected moments through diverse mediums and express them in the exhibition. Three different artistic languages blow up and come together in a collaborative work united by the concept of equidistance – a point of equal distance.”

I have built a game that challenges the idea of playing. Playing as an act, playing as an idea, playing as a state, playing and its associations to objects and/or material things, using different ‘play’ idioms and reflecting on the word ‘play’.

I created wearable flags. Each flag is based on my nationalities and my cultural heritages. The flags are not exact representations of each flag, I have changed the symbols around so you aren’t able exactly pin point which nationality it is.

Drawing in territories and creating a map to point out how countries and maps are defined in an arbitrary way. It also implies the idea of ‘finding’ territory, very much related to colonization and how colonizers would define ‘found’ territory. Colonizers would (and still) outline territories without considering indigineous people and lands.

The 'No Name Town' consists of a large interactive installation in which the viewer can go through this. The No Name Town is built in a colourful and child-like manner. The installation hints to feelings of simultaneously belonging and not belonging in territories which I grew up in and I still currently dwell with. I’m also playing with symbols and elements on stereotypes regarding towns or cities.
